Worcester Combi Boiler Prices

A combi (short for combination) boiler heats water directly from the mains whenever a hot water tap is turned on. This means that, unlike a regular boiler, a separate hot water storage cylinder or a cold water storage tank isn’t needed.

Combi boilers are a very energy-efficient option and this is because the water is heated instantly rather than stored in a cylinder. They provide on-demand hot water for both radiators and taps, and are the most popular boiler choice in the UK.

Worcester Bosch Regular Boiler Prices

Regular or conventional boilers, typically found in older properties, produce hot water for radiators via a cylinder – the kind that’s often in an airing cupboard. The source of the water is a storage tank, which is usually in the attic.

Worcester Bosch System Boiler Prices

System boilers don’t use a storage (or feed) tank because they heat water directly from the mains. They also have in-built hot water components, avoiding the need for a water tank. However, a system boiler does require a cylinder for storing hot water.

Worcester Boiler Prices Fitted

The price of boiler installation will depend on a number of factors, including the size of the property, the type of boiler being fitted and your location.

Since most companies offer free no-obligation quotes, it makes sense to get around 3 valuations before committing yourself to an installer. You’ll then have the opportunity to take on board the advice provided by each engineer – and compare prices.

While combi boilers are usually simple to fit, installation costs will go up or down based on the size of the unit and whether or not any radiators need to be replaced. The length of the flue (which safely vents gases) will need to be taken into account, too. Labour costs will be greater if you need a water tank and/or hot water cylinder to be removed. For more information on what’s involved, refer to our combi boilers guide.

Many boiler brands allow customers to buy directly from them. Since this is not possible with Worcester Bosch, your engineer will do this for you. Accredited heating engineers are Gas Safe Registered, ensuring that all minimum safety standards will be met.

Be sure to check that your engineer registers your new boiler with Worcester Bosch so that all aspects of the guarantee are in force immediately. (Although, this should happen as a matter of course.)

Combi Boiler Installation Costs

For the installation of a new combi boiler that’s replacing an existing one, you can expect to pay about £600. If the current heating system is especially old it may require new parts, such as a mechanical flush, which can cost approximately £510.

If you wish to have a regular boiler replaced by a combi unit, out-of-date materials and equipment will need to be removed as a result. This could include a hot water storage cylinder and cold water storage tank, among other things. If fresh plumbing is required, this will add to the overall cost, too. All of these factors could easily land you with a £1,500 bill.

Are There Any Other Boiler Brands That I Should Consider?

While Worcester Bosch is undoubtedly one of the best – if not the best – boiler manufacturers in the UK, there are a number of other companies that are certainly worthy of your attention. For instance, Viessmann and Vaillant scored well in the same Which? customer survey, the former earning 84% and the latter achieving 78%.

How Can I Buy a Worcester Bosch Boiler?

Worcester Bosch doesn’t sell directly to customers through its website, so it’ll either be via one of its qualified installers or pretty much any reputable boiler installer in the UK. Either will be able to advise you on the kind of boiler that’s best suited to your home.

You can use our website to get free boiler quotes for your home – just complete the form at the top of the page and someone will be in touch.

Once an appointment is set, an installer will visit your home to check your existing system, find out your specific needs and give you a recommendation. They’ll also outline related costs that cover installation, flushing, chemical treatment and filter and control fittings.
