Baxi didn’t always sound this funky. They started out as the Baxendale Company in 1866, when everything was still in black and white.

This means the Baxi gang have got over 150 years of experience, making them rather good at creating boilers. Founder Richard Baxendale is of course dead now, but his passion for heating lives on in everything Baxi do.

Here are the key reasons why you should consider buying into the Baxi brand.

People love it. In as much as you can actually love a boiler company, families across the UK have been terribly fond of Baxi since your grandfather can remember.

Their experience in the industry means you can always expect high quality. Above all else, Baxi understands that a bad boiler is no fun at all.

Great customer support. You’re well looked after by Baxi. They care about boilers an awful lot, but they also really care about the people who’ve bought their boilers.

With an award-winning support centre that’s open 365 days a year, Baxi are even happy to deal with your boiler issues on Christmas Day.

They also have a team of 220 engineers located across the country, ready to come to your house at a moment’s notice (though not all at once).

Top-notch efficiency. All Baxi boilers are top of the class, scoring an A when it comes to their efficiency rating. This is great news for your energy bills and even better news for the environment.

A real haul of awards. If trophies are anything to go by, Baxi’s haul speaks volumes. The industry really rates Baxi, which should fill customers with confidence.

Their highlights include a 2017 Gas Industry award for their customer service, and a 2017 Heating & Ventilation News award for their outstanding Baxi 400 Combi boiler.

Did You Know

Some Baxi models come with a 2 or 3 year warranty, but the majority of them last for at least 7 years. A couple of Baxi boilers even have a 10-year guarantee!

The cost of a Baxi boiler ranges from about £600 to £1300 (excluding installation), depending on the model you choose.

Installation costs can reach up to £1,500 and are determined by a bunch of factors, including where you live, the parts required, and the amount of work involved.

Baxi offers three types of boiler: combi, heat-only, and system. Most of them run on gas.

Some of the Baxi models are mega-powered machines, suitable for huge houses with their high flow rates, while others are a little more modest.

The combi boiler is the most popular type of boiler in the UK, which is probably why Baxi makes so many of them.

It’s called a ‘combi’ because it combines central heating and hot water in one clever system. Most importantly, it heats water only when it’s needed, so there’s no big hot water cylinder required. This compactness and efficiency is what makes the combi so brilliant.

Here’s some key information about the Baxi combi boiler models, including typical prices.

Boiler model Sizes (kW) Warranty Typical price Fuel
Baxi 100 Combi 24, 28 2 years £680 – £730 Gas
Baxi 100 Combi LPG 24, 28 2 years £600 – £780 LPG
Baxi 200 Combi 24, 28 3 years £630 – £700 Gas
Baxi 400 Combi 24, 28 5 years £620 – £690 Gas
Baxi 400 Combi LPG 28 5 years £730 LPG
Baxi 600 Combi 24, 30, 36 7 years £710 – £1,060 Gas
Baxi 600 Combi LPG 24, 30 7 years £760 – £835 LPG
Baxi Duo-tec Combi 24, 28, 33, 40 7 years £760 – £1,080 Gas
Baxi Duo-tec Combi LPG 28 7 years £880 LPG
Baxi EcoBlue + Combi 24, 28, 33 7 years £830 – £1,000 Gas
Baxi EcoBlue Advance Combi 24, 28, 33, 40 10 years £960 – £1,260 Gas
Baxi Platinum Combi 24, 28, 33 10 years £850 – £1,075 Gas

This one’s a bit less fun. Also known as the conventional or regular boiler, it’s something for the traditionalists.

With a hot water cylinder and a separate cold water tank, the heat-only boiler comes with a bit more baggage than the combi, but that makes it very good at coping with multiple bathrooms.

Need a quick supply of hot water to several showers simultaneously? The heat-only boiler will sort you out.

Here’s what you need to know about Baxi’s heat-only boiler range.

Boiler model Sizes (kW) Warranty Typical price Fuel
Baxi 200 Heat 12, 15, 18, 24, 30 3 years £650 – £770 Gas
Baxi 400 Heat 12, 15, 18, 24, 30 5 years £690 – £840 Gas
Baxi EcoBlue Heat 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 2 years £760 – £910 Gas
Baxi EcoBlue Advance Heat 13, 16, 19, 21, 25, 30 7 years £770 – £985 Gas

System boilers will give you the best of both worlds, lacking the cumbersome cold water tank of a heat-only boiler, but with a bit more oomph than a combi boiler.

If you want a Baxi system boiler, it’s a choice between the EcoBlue and the MegaFlo.

Boiler model Sizes (kW) Warranty Typical price Fuel
Baxi EcoBlue System Gas 15, 18, 24, 28, 32 £910 – £1,130 Gas
Baxi Megaflo System 15, 18, 24, 28, 32 7 years £667 – £850 Gas
