Motorists in the UK will soon have a new electric vehicle to choose from after Octopus Electric Vehicles (Octopus EV), a subsidiary of Octopus Energy, said it was adding the XPENG G6 to its line-up.

The G6 has a more than 350 mile driving range and is competitively priced. It brings together powerful performance and advanced technology, including its 800-volt charging system to keep up with daily demand.

Inside, the G6 offers heated seats, ventilated leather-style front seats, a heated steering wheel for chilly mornings and smart tech. Other features include four USB ports, two fast wireless phone chargers and an 18-speaker sound system.

Joining Octopus EVs leasing service means customers can access the XPENG G6 through its all-in-one salary sacrifice scheme, which includes the car, charger, home energy bundle, maintenance, insurance and more.

Alvin Castillo, procurement director and EV guru, Octopus EV, said the scheme will help drivers save up to 40% compared to traditional ownership.

“A few years ago, there were just a handful of EVs on the market – today we can offer more than 100 different models to drivers,” Castillo said.

“Prices continue to become more affordable, the ranges continue to grow and newer brands, like XPENG, are bringing a level of innovation that is helping to push some of the better-known brands to up their game,” he said.

Octopus EV offers more than 100 different EVs for UK drivers and XPENG is the latest global brand to land in Britain.

William Brown, managing director, IM Group, XPENG UK, said it’s excited to team up with Octopus EV to make its G6 model more accessible to drivers across the UK.

“The scheme offers outstanding value and makes it easier than ever for employees to choose a premium, highly specified and EV with real long-distance capability and next-generation technology,” he said.

His most recent sustainability-related work came much closer to home, as he investigated the eco-challenges faced by independent retailers in the UK, specifically looking at how they can cut emissions and continue to thrive.
