Watch episode 12 of Positive Energy – powered by The Eco Experts, with Thomas Farquhar, CEO of Heatio, in conversation with Max Schwerdtfeger and Roland Ellison
For episode 12 of Positive Energy, we’re proud to welcome Thomas Farquhar, co-founder of Heatio.
Thomas is an expert in his field, having previously worked at Evergreen Energy as Head of Sales and Marketing before founding Heatio.
In this episode of Positive Energy we spoke to Thomas about how the UK’s clean energy sector has evolved and what it still has to learn from Europe.
Thomas also gave us an insight into why heat pumps are part of the ‘culture wars’ in the UK and the apprehensiveness people have towards getting a heat pump installed.
As well as heat pumps, we asked about AI and technology and how it can help to manage our energy consumption more efficiently.
From creating a ‘digital twin’ and predicting energy use, to using smart meter data for heat loss calculations. We also talked about the possibility of low-carbon tech subscriptions and the role of green mortgages, something that Heatio has been piloting with energy companies and finance providers.
Heatio is dedicated to “making clean, affordable energy accessible to everyone, by making homes smarter.”
Founded in April 2022, Heatio is relatively new to the clean energy market. Its goal is to help UK homeowners improve energy efficiency by up to 60% by using the latest technology.
According to the company, it “combines property insights, funding checks, and smart-meter integration to make the path from enquiry to installation smoother and more reliable.”
Heatio’s Flexx platform takes a complete energy profile of a home in order to supply a customer with the information they need to reduce energy consumption.
It also shows customers how to adopt and optimise renewable technology, including solar panels and heat pumps.
