Anker SOLIX puts Solarbank 4 Pro on pre-sale in the UK

Anker SOLIX‘s Solarbank 4 Pro, its latest and most advanced battery, is now available for pre-sale in the UK, meaning households will soon have another option in their efforts to cut energy bills.

The company, the world’s leading manufacturer of plug-and-play solar batteries, said the Solarbank 4 Pro combines modular capacity from 5kWh to 30 kWh, with up to 2,500 W AC output and 5,000 W solar input. It also features a dedicated off-grid port that delivers up to 2,500 W of backup output.

The Anker SOLIX Solarbank 4 Pro is available for pre-sale from today (27th August) at a special price of £1,699 via the Anker SOLIX website. The Solarbank 4 BP5000 Expansion Battery will be available from £1,299 during pre-sale.

According to Anker SOLIX, the Solarbank 4 Pro brings “integrated, intelligent home storage to the the UK for the first time”.

The Solarbank 4 Pro features a future-ready hardware architecture with plug-in capability built in, ready to connect directly to a standard socket should UK regulations be extended to cover battery storage.

Unfortunately current regulations mean the system has to be installed by a Part P-registered electrician via a hardwired connection to the consumer unit. Right now this is the only compliant installation method and the one that keeps home insurance valid.

Anker SOLIX said it is planning to offer an installation and registration service alongside purchase, and is monitoring the development of UK regulations.

The company will provide further connection guidance should the framework change, while continuing to work with policymakers, industry associations and standards bodies toward a regulatory environment in which plug-in storage is as straightforward as plug-in solar is today.
