Clean energy-technology giant Aira has launched a new Home Energy System in the UK in a move that could slash household energy bills by up to 90%.

The Swedish company is using its own artificial intelligence (AI), known as Aira Intelligence, to heat and power households in the most efficient way possible, with a goal of, “cleaner, more affordable heating”.

Describing it as a “new era for the clean energy transition”, Aira says the system works alongside previously integrated heat pumps and solar panel systems and smart meters to help customers track energy bill savings. It includes a solar battery and inverter, an EV charger, solar PV, a heat pump, an integrated app, and dynamic tariff usage.

With its end-to-end solution, Aira claims to have created a hassle-free customer experience. Everything works with one provider, one app, one system, and one company to call for service and maintenance for the whole system.

The system calculates home energy usage, designs a solar and battery installation that works perfectly with an Aira heat pump, handles the grid connection and any permissions required, and then uses certified experts to install, test and activate everything.

Peter Prem, Aira Group CEO, described the launch as “a major milestone for Aira” as the company works to “unlock lower bills for millions” by giving households “the tools to generate, store and manage clean power efficiently”.

“Clean home energy solutions are pivotal to Europe’s economic resilience, social well-being and energy independence,” he said.

“Every household that makes the switch becomes part of a bigger movement, driving decarbonisation and the much-needed clean energy transition forward.”

The system was launched by Aira in Stockholm, Sweden, on 11 November 2025. It introduced the new Aira Power range, including the Aira Power Hub and Aira Power Store, marking the completion of the fully integrated Aira Home Energy System.

According to Aira, it is built with certified components that meet the highest international safety standards, and has multiple layers of protection, from automatic shutdown and surge protection, to advanced insulation, so it can run safely and reliably.

Morning

When the solar panel system begins generating clean energy in the morning, Aira Intelligence automatically takes over. It prioritises directing power to meet the customer’s  immediate needs, such as hot water or the kitchen usage, and to reduce reliance on the grid. Leftover energy goes to the Power Store, which keeps excess solar until you need it most.

Midday

The Power Store continues to fill, leaving Aira Intelligence to manage where energy is going, whether it be towards hot water, heating, storing energy for the evening, or selling excess energy to the national grid.

Evening

Grid prices tend to rise in the evening as people return home. At this point, stored solar power takes over, avoiding expensive electricity prices.

Night

While energy consumption is at its stereotypical lowest, Aira Intelligence studies the next day’s weather, tariff rates, and how energy has been used throughout the day. It then plans energy usage for the next 24 hours.

Aira Intelligence is Aira’s AI. It learns your routines and adapts to the weather forecast, making use of smart tariff optimisation to make sure you’re using your energy as efficiently as possible.

This eases pressure on the grid and keeps energy more stable for everyone.

It adapts hourly to heat and power a home with maximum efficiency, and gathers a wealth of system insights every day — more than 300,000 across Germany, Italy and the UK — in order to do so.

For example, in seeing temperature changes ahead of time, Aira Intelligence will learn how sunlight can naturally heat a home, and adjust the heating accordingly to prevent energy wastage. Using predictive solar generation, it will then plan your home energy usage accordingly, including hot water management.

It can sync to tariffs based on the homeowners preferences, charging the Aira Power Store when electricity prices are low, and selling back to the grid at peak times.

It also catches and fixes inefficiencies, providing data to Aira’s team who are available for 24/7 support.

Installation of the Home Energy System happens in four steps: design, approval, installation, and activation.

All of Aira’s qualified technicians are trained at the Aira Academy and they handle the entire process from start-to-finish.

Aira says: “Even the best home energy system won’t perform if it’s not installed right. So we don’t leave it to chance.”

Its focus is on heating homes efficiently with a heat pump, maximising solar energy generation with solar panels, and ensuring that the Power Store and Hub work together seamlessly.

All devices work together and can be viewed, tracked and controlled on any device, using the Aira Home Energy App.

Using the Boiler Upgrade Scheme can save £7,500 on the purchase of the Home Energy System – Image credit: Aira

The Aira home ecosystem is now available to buy in the UK. The average price for a small house is £260/month over ten years. The average price for a medium house is £300/month over ten years. Both include the Aira Heat Pump 15 year warranty and Aira Power 10 year warranty.

The above prices reflect scenarios created to optimise energy bills savings for an average home, but there are slightly lower starting prices available without extended warranties.

Each household will receive a bespoke quote from an Aira Clean Energy Expert based on its specific needs. This happens during an initial free home energy assessment.

Installation and aftercare is included in the system cost. There are no call out charges or labour costs, and any issues that present themselves  in the first year are on Aira.

The package is also eligible to receive £7,500 from the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).

Additionally, the all-inclusive Aira Guarantee provides industry-leading cover, protecting Aira Power devices for 10 years and an Aira Heat Pump for 15 years. This provides somewhat peace of mind during a cost-of-living crisis and volatile fuel markets.

The Aira Guarantee promises three things:

  • Complete temperature comfort
  • Optimal heat pump performance
  • At least 4x more heating efficiency than a boiler

It’s important to note that this plan does not protect against damage or malfunction to the system caused by issues such as  unauthorised tampering with the heat pump.

  • Heat pump adoption in Sweden is 40-50%, whereas in the UK it’s only 1%. However, Aira research from 2025 is cause for optimism, suggesting that the UK is already on track for 600,000 heat pump installations per year by 2028.
  • To reach this net zero target by 2035, Aira is looking to electrify and decarbonise 5 million European homes across  20+ countries, as well as hiring 20,000 clean energy experts.
  • But for 2026, the Aira Home Energy System is a complete ecosystem that can cut CO₂ emissions and take up to 90% off your energy bills, making the future of clean energy simple and efficient.
