Škoda has announced that its Epiq EV will be available in the UK this year, and it will have a range of 267 miles and be priced at under £25,000.

The Epiq will be built on Volkswagen’s enhanced modular electric drive platform, MEB+, the same as the upcoming Volkswagen ID. Polo and Cupra Raval.

MEB+, also introduced in 2026, is a stopgap before Volkswagen’s Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), and offers enhanced performance, range and charging for its EVs. It has a target of 434 mile range and 175–200kW charging.

Three variants of the Epiq will be available, including the 35, 40 and 55. The 35 and 40 will offer 116 horsepower and 135 horsepower respectively, and 196 miles of range. The Epiq 55 will have 211 horsepower, 267 miles of range, and be able to charge from 10% to 80% in just 23 minutes.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Škoda Auto, said the company plans to make electromobility even more accessible with the Epiq and that the SUV crossover marks a “significant expansion” of its range, combining attractive design, space and affordability to draw in new customer groups.

“With pricing in many markets comparable to the combustion-engine Kamiq, customers gain true freedom of choice in terms of both powertrain and vehicle style,” Zellmer said.

“The Epiq builds on Škoda’s strong momentum in electric mobility,” Zellmer explained, saying that last year the Elroq was ranked the second bestselling EV in Europe, giving Škoda two models in the European EV Top 5.

The Škoda Epiq will have 475l of boot capacity, an interior with  a 5.3-inch driver’s display, and 13-inch central display, alongside seats made of 100% recycled PES textiles. It is 4.1m long and offers seating for five.

Oliver Stefani, chief designer, Škoda Auto, called the Epiq “a milestone model in the evolution of Škoda’s design,” and explained how it’s “the first production model to fully incorporate all elements of the new Modern Solid design language.”

“The minimalist concept combines sophisticated details that enhance the SUV’s appearance, combining distinctive style with practicality,” Stefani said.

“The sustainable interior has also been completely redesigned, with clean lines that evoke a feeling of trust and cosiness.”
