For episode 13 of Positive Energy, we’re proud to welcome Stuart Gadsden, commercial director, Kensa, to speak to us about everything heat pump related.
Kensa is a heat pump installation and manufacturing company that focuses on affordable and sustainable heating solutions. They have been ground-source heat pump pioneers since 1999. In a company statement, they said: “we want to help millions stay comfortable all year round with clean, affordable, zero-carbon energy”.
Ed Milliband, Secretary of State for Energy and Net Zero, recently said that he is working with Kensa to “tackle fuel poverty” and “decarbonise” the UK.
In this episode of Positive Energy, we spoke to Stuart about how a ground-source heat pump works, what the difference between a ground-source and air-source heat pump is, and if geography plays a role in the adoption of heat pumps.
We also spoke about heat pump running costs and explored whether it’s possible to make the technology available at scale, including the financing and logistics of rolling it out.
