For episode 7 of the Positive Energy podcast, were proud to welcome back Bean Beanland.
Fresh from recording The Happy Heat Pump Podcast with Evan Davis, which the BBC has now stopped Davis from recording, Bean talks to The Eco Experts about his brush with TikTok fame, why he thinks people have got it in for heat pumps and debunks some common myths about them along the way.
We asked Bean about everything heat pump related, including the obstacles to heat pump adoption, how suitable the UK is for heat pump installations, and what the general public can do to better insulate their homes in preparation for a heat pump.
We also talk about how heat pumps are a long term investment and what you can expect to see of your energy bills over time.
Bean Beanland is Director for Growth & External Affairs at the Heat Pump Federation, and has over 16 years of experience working on the installation of heat pumps. He also advises the government on its decarbonisation policies.
The Heat Pump Federation lobbies the government for long term policies that support the electrification of heating and cooling. It also works to raise awareness, understanding and confidence in heat pump technology in domestic and commercial sectors.
