Luxury car brand Jaguar has released a new electric vehicle (EV), the Jaguar Type 01, which it says can travel 400 miles on a single charge, significantly above the average of 350 miles.
The Jaguar Type 01, in the company’s words, is “the most technologically advanced and powerful” it has ever made. It also “establishes a new benchmark for Jaguar in power, aerodynamics and technological advancement”, the company claimed.
The EV is a luxury four-door grand tourer (GT) with roughly 1000 horsepower. This allows it to go 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, with a range, at “sustained highway speed”, of up to 320 miles, according to Jaguar.
Orders for Jaguar Type 01 will begin in early 2027, with the company expecting the first cars to be delivered in the second half of the year. The Type 01 will cost roughly £130,000.
Rawdon Glover, managing director at Jaguar, said the Type 01 “distils the essence of Jaguar into a luxury grand tourer for a new era.
He went on to say that the Type 01 “makes no compromise between design and engineering in our quest to create objects of desire, just as it was in the days of the E-type and XJS.”
