Suntech Power is the largest solar panel manufacturer in the world with an annual production of 1,800MW reached by the end of 2010. Suntech solar panels are amongst the highest quality and most efficient solar panels in the world and are used in some of the world's most prestigious structures such as Beijing National Stadium (Beijing, China), Nellis Air Force Base (Nevada, USA) and Arizona State University.
One of the most popular Suntech solar panels are the STP range, highly efficient yet affordably priced. Low powered Suntech solar panels can be found for as little as £156 for a 20 watt panel but higher powered panels will cost a bit more.
The Suntech STP190-18-UB-1 (190w) is a highly efficient and high performing solar panel capable of a variety of applications both residential and commercial. It is constructed from 54 individual polycrystalline solar cells and operates at a peak efficiency of 12.92%. It has a maximum system voltage of 600v and a 20 AMP series fuse rating.
The Suntech STP190 can be found at most reputable solar panel suppliers in the UK and will cost from around £308 excluding VAT. Exact prices will vary between suppliers so try to shop around before making a final purchase decision. The Suntech STP190 is MCS approved so can earn owners money under Feed in Tariffs for renewable energy and has a 25 year power output warranty.
The Suntech STP260-24-Vb-1 is a 260 watt solar panel capable of producing even more power and is more able to handle larger applications than the STP190 and consists of 72 polycrystalline solar cells achieving a peak efficiency of 13.4%. It has multi-contact connector type 4 outputs and a maximum system voltage of 600v.
The Suntech STP260 comes with a 25 year performance warranty. A 4kW solar panel system would use 15 Suntech STP260s achieving approximately 3900kW. Lower wattage solar panels are used to achieve power outputs closer to an exact specification. Both of these solar panels can be used on their own as project kits or for off-grid type electricity generation, or as part of a large solar PV system capable of delivering thousand of kilowatts of power.
The Suntech STP260-24-Vb-1 costs around £1,220 including VAT in the UK and is also supplied with a 25 year performance warranty.
Suntech Solar Panel Suppliers
All Suntech solar panels are MCS approved so can earn owners cash from Feed in Tariffs, but the supplier must also be MCS accredited in order for the MCS solar panels to be eligible.
So, when comparing solar panel suppliers and prices one should be mindful of this and only compare prices from the most reputable MCS accredited energy companies. MCS solar panel installer/supplier accreditation is not just for the benefit of eligibility for Feed in Tariff payments, but also to ensure that the installer is working to acceptable safety and quality standards as sanctioned by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
MCS accredited installers are measured on the quality of workmanship and their skill level within the solar product industry. After all, why accept less than the best?
