E.ON Solar Panels and Storage Batteries

DISCLAIMER: Our partners no longer take appointments for homeowners looking to benefit from the Feed-in Tariff, which is due to end on 31st March 2019

With E.ON solar panels and batteries, you can generate, use and store your own green energy, making you less dependent on the National Grid.

By installing E.ON solar technology, you can earn tax-free money from the Government Feed-in Tariff over 20 years and save up to 50% on your energy bills.

E.ON solar installations start from just £2,895, depending on how many solar panels you install and whether you get a solar battery.

E.ON is one of the UK’s leading energy companies, supplying electricity and gas to over 5 million customers in the UK. The company is dedicated to sustainable energy production, investing over £2.4 billion in renewable technology in the UK and generating almost 1GW of renewable energy.

E.ON works with its customers to help them make their home more energy efficient by encouraging them to insulate their property, moderate their energy use and generate their own power through renewable technology like solar panels.

E.ON Solar Panels

E.ON has thousands of solar customers across Europe, including the UK, Germany and Sweden. The company installs solar technology for both E.ON and non-E.ON customers, who own their home and roof. Its solar technology has been vigorously tried and tested, making E.ON a safe choice for your solar panels.

E.ON work with expert solar installers across the UK, who’ll arrange a survey of your home and help you find the best solar system for you and your budget. You’ll be involved in the design process from start to finish, putting you in control of the price, performance and appearance of your solar panels.

You’ll be able to book your installation at a time and date that suits your schedule. E.ON will aim to install your solar panels in just 1 day, but will need some time to put up scaffolding beforehand (if needed).

Once your solar panels are installed, you can download E.ON’s handy solar manager app that allows you to monitor and manage your solar energy production 24/7.

E.ON’s solar panels come with an excellent warranty of up to 25 years. Some of their solar products also come with a performance guarantee. This means that if the amount of power your solar panels generate unexpectedly falls below the figure quoted for the system you’ve bought, E.ON will refund you a percentage of the cost.

As well as solar panels, E.ON are working with Viridian Solar to supply sleek in-roof solar panels to UK homeowners. These solar roof tiles replace your roof tiles or slates, so they sit flush with the existing tiles and look like part of your roof. This makes solar roof tiles a great alternative if you’re concerned about how solar panels will alter the appearance of your home’s roof.

E.ON Solar Battery

As well as solar panels, E.ON also supply rechargeable solar batteries. Solar batteries store spare energy generated by your solar panels to use as and when you need it. For example, if you’re at work during the day when your solar panels are producing lots of electricity, you can store this electricity in a battery and use it in the evening when you’re back home. This means you won’t need to buy as much electricity from the National Grid, cutting your spend on energy bills.

E.ON solar batteries start from 2.4kWh in size (that stores enough power to allow you to binge watch your favourite TV show for about 7 hours), and come in a range of prices to suit every budget. They’re quite large, with E.ON’s smallest battery being about the size of a DVD player. You’ll need somewhere in your home big enough to store the solar battery, such as in your garage, utility room or even under the stairs.

If you decide you want to store more electricity in the future, you can simply add to your storage with E.ON’s modular battery system. All of E.ON’s solar batteries come with a generous warranty of up to 10 years, protecting your investment for a prolonged period of time.

E.ON Feed-in Tariff

DISCLAIMER: Our partners no longer take appointments for homeowners looking to benefit from the Feed-in Tariff, which is due to end on 31st March 2019

E.ON’s solar technology is accredited by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), meaning you’ll have access to, and be able to financially benefit from, the UK Government’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT).

The Feed-in Tariff pays you for a) every kWh of electricity your solar panels produce (the Generation Tariff), and b) every kWh of electricity generated by your solar panels which you don’t use and export back to the National Grid (the Export Tariff).

The payments you’ll receive are tax-free and apply for 20 years, meaning you can earn a great return on investment. According to E.ON, you can save up to 50% on your energy bills with solar panels and a battery, which translates to savings of around £400 a year. If you then add on potential earnings from the FiT, you could have up to £630 more a year in your pocket.

The FiT rates are reduced every 3 months, so the longer you wait to install solar panels, the less you can earn from the electricity they generate. Based on the current rates, homeowners are paid 3.93p per kWh for the solar power they produce (the Generation Tariff), and 5.24p per kWh for the electricity they sell back to the Grid. The Feed-in Tariff is due to end in April 2019, however, making now the best time to install E.ON solar technology if you want to benefit from the scheme.

*Earnings based on a south facing property in central England with a 40 degree roof tilt and no shading. Earnings assume you’re fitting 12 320-watt solar panels and a 9.6kWh battery, with an electricity consumption of 4,900 kWh per year.

To find out more about how you can earn money from your solar panels, visit our guide on the Feed-in Tariff.

If you’d like to benefit from the FiT with E.ON’s solar technology, just fill in the short form at the top of the page and a member of their team will get in touch with you to arrange a home survey.

How Much Do E.ON Solar Installations Cost?

E.ON solar panel installations start from just £2,895. For homeowners wanting to install both solar panels and a solar battery, prices start from slightly more at £5,995. If you already have solar panels but want to retrofit an E.ON solar battery, installations are available from £3,995.

If you’re interested in getting solar technology but are concerned about your ability to pay the upfront cost, E.ON offer a 12 month, interest-free payment plan* that allows you to spread the cost of your solar panels and/or solar battery. You’ll be required to make a down payment between 25% and 75% of the total price of your solar technology, but the outstanding amount can then be paid off over 1 year.

*E.ON’s finance scheme is only available to new E.ON solar customers. Eligibility is subject to credit checks and all applicants must be aged 18 or over and live in the UK.

To get a solar panel quote for your home, simply click the orange button below and fill in a short form with some basic details about yourself and your property. A member of E.ON’s solar team will then get in touch with you to arrange a home survey.
