Yingli Green Energy is a holding company who trade under the brand name Yingli Solar, and are one of the world's largest manufacturers of PV solar panels. They develop, produce and export their panels to a wide range of countries all over the world including Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Greece, China and the United States. Their headquarters are based in Baoding, China but they have offices in more than 10 countries worldwide, employing more than 6000 staff. They describe themselves as being one of the world's leading suppliers of renewable energy products and as a 'world-leader' in the drive to promote sustainable energy technology around the world.
Product Overview
Yingli are proud of their reputation for producing PV Solar panels of the highest quality. They use only the best materials, such as specially designed robust, corrosion resistant aluminium frames. The frames are independently certified to withstand mechanical loading strengths of as much as 5400Pa, this is to ensure they remain stable throughout their 25 year life-span. The quality of their products is further ensured by the fact that they are independently tested for conformance with regulatory standards of the IEC, UL etc. Prices can typically range from between £490-£630 for panels with an output ranging from 180-230W. Smaller panels range from around £75 to £250. Their products come with a 5 year limited product warranty and a 25 year limited power warranty. Their recently unveiled Panda Series of solar panels uses technology developed by an in-house collaboration between the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and Amtech Systems Inc., two of the world's leading developers of
microgeneration technology.
Global Responsibility and Philanthropic Work
As a global leader in the innovation and production of PV renewable energy systems, Ying Li takes its responsibility to give back to the community very seriously. As a sponsor of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Ying Li signed an agreement with FIFA to build 20 Football for Hope Centres across the continent, where their products help to illuminate the centres' football pitches and power their computers and air-conditioning. Ying Li are also involved in an important initiative with GRID Alternatives, a non-profit organisation that works with deprived communities in California. This project is hoping to install 1 MW of Solar energy systems in 400 low-income homes across California in 2011 alone. It hopes to generate upwards of million worth of renewable energy while eliminating 40,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Whilst at the same time providing training and employment to thousands of people hoping to find work in the solar industry.
Quality and Transparency
As was stated earlier, all Yingli products adhere to and in many cases exceed all international standards of quality, safety and workmanship. With their partners TUV Rheinland, regular quarterly inspections of their production facilities are carried out, ensuring that all the standards of excellence required by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), are met.
