Baxi combi boiler prices

A combination or ‘combi’ boiler heats water directly from the mains when you turn on a tap. This means that unlike a heat-only or regular boiler, you won’t need a separate hot water storage cylinder or a cold water storage tank.

Combi boilers tend to produce good shower pressure and are also more cost and energy-efficient as the water is heated instantly rather than stored in a cylinder.

The cheapest in the range is the Duo-tec 24 Combi ErP which typically costs £680 and the most expensive is the new EcoBlue 33 Combi ErP at £1,735.

Review of Baxi boilers

Baxi boilers received an overall brand score of 56% from Which? The brand score is assessed by customer survey and ratings from heating engineers. These surveys were carried out in April and May 2015.

According to Which? Baxi boilers received an average score for their reliability record and fell short in the 2016 owners survey compared to the reliability of other brands like, Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Viessmann, Johnson & Starley and Intergas.

Which? also covered the opinions of heating engineers who rank the build quality of a Baxi boiler as average. The engineers were not especially negative about the brand, nor did they express particular praise. Points that let them down were reliability, after-sales service and technical support.

On a positive note, the engineers said Baxi boiler parts are easy enough to get hold of and they are fairly simple to service. In their opinion, a Baxi boiler is a decent mid-range option with a market-leading warranty.

Baxi is also a leading manufacturer of megaflo boilers. These boilers are popular with homeowners who have multiple bathrooms or require high pressure hot water.

How do I buy a Baxi boiler?

Baxi will not quote or sell to you directly but instead refer you to an engineer who is fully trained on installing Baxi boilers. This is because every home is unique and an engineer will need to assess your requirements before recommending a particular type.

Once this assessment is complete, the engineer will then provide you with an obligation-free quote that will state which boiler you need and how much the installation will cost.

You can find a list of local, Baxi-recommended engineers on their website.
